R v W – Strangulation – Guildford Crown Court – 2025

Andy acted on behalf of his client who was accused of violently assaulting his partner and strangling her and damaging her property.

Both the complainant and an independent witness called Police. The defence case was one of self-defence and that Andy’s client had actually been assaulted by the complainant. The defence submitted that the nature of the Injuries to both the defendant and to the complainant supported the notion that the complainant was in fact the aggressor. At the conclusion of the Trial Andy’s client was found Not Guilty of every count he faced at Trial.
